Scouting Loyola at Montini

Loyola (1-0) at Montini (0-1)

Game time: 7 p.m. Saturday.

Last year: Did not play.

Last week: Loyola 35, Evanston 0; Joliet Catholic 21, Montini 7.

Outlook: Another example of Montini coach Chris Andriano's eagerness to play the best. A 2009 Class 8A semifinalist, last week former pro linebacker John Holecek's Loyola Ramblers rolled ex-Driscoll coach Mike Burzawa's Wildkits, quarterback Malcolm Weaver and running back William Palivos combining to score 5 touchdowns. Against Joliet Catholic, Montini receiver Jordan Westerkamp scored the Broncos' first 2010 touchdown and Alex Walters made 11 tackles, but quarterback Matt Westerkamp left with a sprained shoulder. Junior Kurt Gitchell is ready if needed. Saturday will be electric - Montini's permanent lights debut. Andriano hopes offensive execution also brightens. "Our state championship ego got bruised," he said. "It was a wakeup call."

Next week: Loyola at Providence; Walther Lutheran at Montini.
