Foster has empathy for working class
The Republican Party has abandoned the middle class and has become the party of corporate interest and the very rich. One needs to look no further than the 14th Congressional District seat that was once held by Dennis Hastert - Speaker of the House and George W. Bush's enabler of many of that party's disastrous policies.
No bad idea seemed to be off limits when Hastert and the Republican majority party attempted to privatize Social Security. This scheme pushed by our former president and the Republican Party would take away the only safety net for working folks and change it into a huge resource of assets for investment managers to place more bets.
There is a strong reason to believe that Republican candidate Randy Hultgren will support the same types of misguided policies.
Should you choose Democrat Bill Foster, you can be assured that your choice will be for someone that wants to work the people in his district and the business community. His vote to lend money to the car manufacturers saved jobs and the industry itself. As his first act as a freshman representative, he was the deciding vote on an ethics bill. His presence became essential on the passing of Health Care Reform legislation. He was on board a jobs bill that included an extension of unemployment benefits, while the opposing party voted four times against it.
A man with empathy for the working class during these hard times, Foster realizes that they deserve a process that is fair if they choose to have an election for representation in the workplace. That is why Congressman Foster co-sponsored the Employee Free Choice Act to ensure that right for every American worker.
