Create more laws for religious structures
I want to thank Daily Herald for running the Aug. 22 article, "Questions and answers about ground zero," by the Associated Press. It is the best yet.
A proposed Islamic center including a mosque is at 45-47 Park Place in Manhattan. A private real estate development company bought it from Burlington Coat Factory in 2009, and Muslims have prayed there since. It is private property, not an historical landmark.
The size of the Islamic mosque is important. There should be a legal limit, 13 stories only. Make the law. There is a huge Islamic mosque in London, larger than Westminster Abbey. Investigate results. Make a new law on Park to stop more religious structures within two miles of ground zero, or any concentration of religious structures.
The article said only public relations will help, but laws are needed and most important.
