Villa Park police seek man who approached boy

Villa Park police are looking for a man who approached a 4-year-old who was riding a bicycle Monday afternoon.

Police said the boy was on the 200 block of North Harvard around 12:15 p.m. when a black, late model Dodge Durango pulled up alongside him. The passenger got out of the car and approached the boy, authorities said.

When a neighbor came out of her house and walked toward the boy, the man returned to the car and the driver drove off, police said.

The passenger was described as a black male in his late 30s, with a thin build, wearing a red T-shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap. Police do not have a detailed description of the driver, a white male.

Anyone with information about the car or its occupants is asked to contact Villa Park police at (630) 834-7447 or police@vppd.org.
