Teen injured when bike struck by a vehicle in Huntley

A 16-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a car while riding his bike on Founders Field Road in Huntley, police said.

He was riding at 6:21 p.m. Sunday when he crossed Founders Field Road onto eastbound Hawley Lane, then turned around, and tried to ride back across Founders Field, said Huntley Deputy Chief Todd Fulton.

However, when the teen turned back, he was hit by the car traveling south on Founders Field, Fulton said.

He was taken to Centegra Hospital - Woodstock, Fulton said, where his condition was not disclosed.

Fulton said the accident still remains under investigation and citations have not been issued at this point.
