Bullet grazes girl in Aurora
A bullet grazed a girl in the chest Monday afternoon during a drive-by shooting in Aurora, police said.
The girl was taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora for nonlife threatening wounds, said Sgt. Robb Wallers.
At 4:49 p.m., one vehicle was chasing the other on West Indian Trail and Nantucket Road, when someone from one of the vehicles opened fire, Wallers said.
"I believe one of the passengers was the one who was hit," Wallers said.
Police have launched a preliminary investigation and no other information was available Monday night.
"We've been interviewing a ton of people," Wallers said, adding that the incident was not gang related.
