Arlington Hts. Taste was just splendid
Kudos to the organizers, sponsors, restaurateurs, volunteers and guests at the inaugural Taste of Arlington Heights held Aug. 21 in downtown Arlington Heights.
What a huge success as an economic driver to support our business community. After many years of discussion, the Taste became a reality as a natural extension of the popular Mane Event Million Dollar Block Party to showcase our variety of great restaurants.
And who doesn't love an outdoor summer party with great food, friends and music just minutes from home? Sincere thanks to Dr. Joe Favia, chamber president, and Jon Ridler, chamber executive director, for recruiting Verizon as prime event sponsor, and working with the village staff and chamber volunteers to produce a quality event that will hopefully become a new tradition.
One of the night's best moments for me was seeing the brother/sister team - architect Jim Tinaglia on stage performing with his Exit 147 band, and his sister, Jackie Lewis, owner of Forbici Salon and a Taste event sponsor and volunteer. Seeing Jim and Jackie, along with so many of our neighbors, working together to give the Taste their best efforts was a highlight of this summer in Arlington Heights!
Many thanks to all involved.
