Experience Long Grove's "World Tour" excitement on Labor Day weekend, Saturday, Sept 4-Monday, Sept. 6. An outgrowth of Long Grove's very popular Irish Days, Long Grove's international-themed shops will showcase their cultural heritage with this exciting multi-national event.

Enjoy a whirlwind of ethnic dance and music, from exotic belly dancers to exuberant Irish step dancing and Scottish fling to German oompah bands and tunes of Polish and Scandinavian ancestry. Enjoy ethnic flavors and tastes throughout town, as shops and restaurants celebrate many cultures, including Brazilian, Canadian, French, German, Great Britain, Greek, Irish, Italian, Mexican, Polish, Scandinavian, as well as U.S. and Native American. Taste your way through town with foods and flavors from many nations. Children will enjoy the various cultural opportunities, as well as traditional kiddie rides, movie and ice cream eating contests.

Pick up a "Passport" in Long Grove, and enjoy specials at participating shops. Enter to win daily prizes and a $250 shopping spree. Enjoy music and dancing at pavilions throughout town, as you check out merchandise from around the world in Long Grove's many shops. Admission and parking are free. Dog lovers can participate too - The Dog House of Long Grove will sponsor their annual "Best Dog" contest each of the three days with prizes for "Best" princess and prince (dogs under 2) and the King and Queen. Crowd appeal, not pedigrees will determine the "Best", as the winners will be selected by the many viewers. Registration for the dog judging will be at noon each day, with the puppy judging at 1:15 p.m. and the Kings and Queens beginning at 2:15 p.m. Prizes will be awarded following each competition, and all participating dogs will receive a bandana and treat bag.
