Gunman robs St. Charles store
St. Charles police are investigating an armed robbery about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at a 7-Eleven Convenience store near 17th and Main streets.
Police said a man walked into the store, located on the 1700 block of West Main Street, displayed a handgun to the clerk and demanded money. The man then fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
Cmdr. Jerry Gatlin said police are attempting to obtain an image of the suspect from the store's security cameras but did not have any leads as of Monday morning.
The suspect is described as standing 5-foot-11, weighing between 165 and 185 pounds, with dark blond hair. He was wearing a gray, long-sleeve shirt with black lettering across the chest, dark baggy pants, white gym shoes, a black skull cup, Chicago Bears gloves and a purple bandanna covering his face.
He was last seen running westbound between the 7-Eleven and a Dunkin' Donuts.
Police are offering a reward for information leading to his arrest. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Andrew Lamela at (630) 443-3742 or Gatlin at (630) 443-3739.
