A question for imam to answer

According to columnist Susan Estrich ("When mosque and convent are analogous," Daily Herald, Aug. 23), both ground zero mosque and convent at Auschwitz are analogous. Unless the imam behind the mosque proposal defines exactly why he wants to build the mosque near ground zero, Ms. Estrich shouldn't equate both the mosque and the convent. The Carmelite nuns were 100 percent upfront about their reason. Even so, Pope John Paul II decided to do things differently.

Well, the world is waiting, Imam Rauf. Really, just why are you building at ground zero?
