God-themed film eaten by 'Piranha'
On Aug. 21, the Daily Herald's film critics published their ratings on 22 movies currently being shown in the greater Chicago area. Two unreviewed films not rated were "What If," a meaningful new movie of depth on a religious theme, and "Piranha 3-D," a 3-D remake of a 1978 movie.
Following the last two films mentioned, I quote one critic's statement: "Not screened for critics, and we all know what that means, don't we." I take this to mean a rating of "Pits" or worse.
"Piranha 3-D" had a published content rating featuring D-drug use, L-obscene language, N-nudity, S-sexual situations, and V-violence. Only parental guidance rating is listed for "What If."
You guessed it. "Piranha 3-D" is being shown in all six chain theaters, a total of 26 movie houses.
Out of all 32 theaters, 21 chose to show a movie more fit for repulsive degenerates, while merely three movie house are showing an inspiring and uplifting film suitable for any audience.
Seven of eight AMC theaters are showing "Piranha," two are showing "What If;" four of seven Classic theaters are showing "Piranha, none showing "What If;" four of five Regal theaters are showing "Piranha," none showing "What If;" both Muvico theaters are showing "Piranha;" both Marcus theaters, one showing "What If;" both Cinemark are showing "Piranha," neither showing "What If."
Those are the numbers. Draw your own conclusions on the society we've become. The ACLU is fighting to eliminate all religion and spirituality in the marketplace, in our schools, in our governing bodies, everywhere. As Bill O'Reilly would say, who is the pinhead, who is the patriot? - your call.
