Attack claim against chief makes no sense

I just read an article in your newspaper titled "Antioch police chief on leave as officials probe attack claim." And since I have known police Chief Jim Foerster since he was a child and every step of the way into his adulthood, I say with total confidence that he would never do such a thing - never. Never in a million years. Never. Never. Never.

I say this with great confidence for a wide variety of reasons. First of all being a father himself, he would never act violent in front of teenagers. Never.

Secondly, being a longtime police officer in the Antioch Police Department, before rising to the ranks of chief - I will let his past record speak for itself.

Thirdly, if my memory doesn't fail me, Chief Foerster is close to being able to retire, and he is way too intelligent to let something like this jeopardize his job and good reputation that he has worked hard to maintain in his hometown of Antioch.

Keep in mind Chief Foerster is not only a man of great integrity - and proven honesty and dedication to our town - but he is also a very intelligent person. What intelligent person would do something like that in front of his boss - namely, the mayor of Antioch?

Without a doubt - I smell a rat - and the rat is not named Jim Foerster. Simple as that.
