Arlington Heights' De Rosa wins Hood award
The Arlington Heights Senior Citizens Commission has named Frank De Rosa the winner of the 2010 Dr. Kenneth Hood Award.
De Rosa, who worked in commercial sales for NBC television, is a member of the commission and has been active in many organizations since he and his wife, Dolores, moved to the village in 1955. These include Little League, Cub Scouts, VFW and Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church. The couple was awarded the Heart of Gold in 2003.
While exhibiting a history of service to the senior community, De Rosa has become an example because he has enhanced the lives of senior citizens with "both a passion and a zest for the joy of living," the commission said.
