Scouting Round Lake at Westosha Central

Round Lake (0-9) at Westosha Central (3-6)

When: 7:30 p.m., today

Last season: Westosha Central def. Round Lake, 24-0

Outlook: This perennial Opening Night rivalry ends with tonight's game. "They love to play us," said Round Lake coach John Coursey, whose team is 0-18 in his two seasons and has lost 25 straight games. "Everybody loves to play us." Next year, however, Round Lake will face a Lake County opponent to open the season. Coursey said the Panthers will play both Grayslake Central and Grayslake North during the first two weeks of nonconference play. "We need to build some rivalries," Coursey said. "I'm really excited about it." ... As for tonight's opponent, Coursey respects Westosha Central, as well as the rivalry the two programs have shared. "They're a good team," Coursey said. "We match up well with them, and they match up well with us. ... As good as they've been for us, playing us all these years, we need to move on and establish some (new rivalries)."
