Scouting Alden-Hebron at Christian Liberty
Alden-Hebron (7-3, 6-3) at Christian Liberty (0-9, 0-9)
When: 1 p.m. Saturday
Last year's opener: Alden-Hebron d. Christian Liberty 63-0
Outlook: Christian Liberty coach Jim Calkins joked he wasn't sure if he wanted to have his team watch film of last year's opener. "But it helped them get a little more motivated," Calkins said. "They see the goal." Hebron coach John Lalor expects to see a more polished team. "Those guys are trying to do the right thing over there and they have some good, young kids," Lalor said. "I think they'll be better." Hebron's numbers are down from the usual 32 to 24 as it lost 10 seniors and has five back in TE-FB-LB Cody Eskridge, TE-RB-LB Sig Finley, WB-SS Tyler Henken, WB-CB Mitch Hooper and lineman Troy Behrens (6-1, 305). Junior C Jacob Walters was an all-NAC pick and Lalor's sophomore son Bryce takes over at QB. "The line and Bryce will make us or break us," Lalor said. "He's extremely smart and looks sharper and sharper every day."
