Fire rookie Johnson earns third goalkeeping award

Chicago Fire rookie goalkeeper Sean Johnson has earned his third MLS Save of the Week Award this month after making a crucial stop in the Fire's loss 4-3 against Houston Dynamo.

Johnson dove to stop Dynamo midfielder Brian Mullan's blast from the top of the box, keeping the game at 0-0 in the 15th minute. Johnson earned 70 percent of the vote, topping current San Jose Earthquakes and former Chicago Fire goalkeeper Jon Busch save of a shot by Landon Donovan of the L.A. Galaxy.

Johnson, 21, has garnered four NAPA MLS Save of the Week nominations in August, previously taking home the award two other times.

The Fire will play Seattle Sounders FC at Qwest Field in Seattle at 9:30 p.m. Saturday (CSN).
