Wolves to host free clinics for youth hockey coaches

The Chicago Wolves will host two free coaching clinics in August. for youth hockey coaches at their practice facility in Hoffman Estates.

The clinics will take plays on Aug. 30 and 31, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hoffman Estates Park District Community Center and Ice Arena, 1685 W. Higgins Road.

"We are always looking for unique ways to reach out to the youth hockey community," said Chris George, Youth Hockey and Business Development coordinator for theWolves. "These local coaches devote their time to teaching young players to love the game, and this will be a great way for them to gain valuable knowledge and insight from a professional staff."

The clinics will include on-ice demonstrations of team drills and workouts by Wolves general manager Wendell Young, goaltending coach Stan Dubicki, and strength and conditioning coach Rob Rosmis.

Participants also will have the opportunity to attend a question-and-answer session, and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Wolves practice facility.

In addition, former Wolves forward Steve Martins will participate, and the sponsor representatives of the clinic, Jerry's Hockey Warehouse, will provide equipment tips.

Clinics will be divided by age groups as follows:

Aug. 30: Mites, Squirts and Pee Wee Coaches at 6:30 p.m.

Aug. 31: Bantam, Midget and High School coaches at 6:30 p.m.
