Two teens stabbed in Palatine; 15-year-old charged

Two 16-year-olds were stabbed Tuesday night in Palatine during an altercation with another youth over what police described as a summer-long feud.

The 15-year old offender was walking on the 1300 block of Geneva Drive when he saw the group of four 16-year-old's that he had been in the feud with, police said. He approached the group and a fight broke out during which two of the 16-year-olds were stabbed.

One teen was stabbed in the right side and sent to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he was held overnight with non life-threatening injuries.

The second teen was stabbed in the back and taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights and released the same night.

The suspect was arrested at about 5:25 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Baldwin Road and East Dundee Road. Police said he was cooperative with detectives and admitted to both stabbings.

He is being charged with aggravated battery and has been petitioned to appear in juvenile court.
