Notre Dame hockey tourney returning to Sears Centre

The third annual Notre Dame Shillelagh Hockey Tournament returns to the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates this winter.

The event takes play on Jan. 1 and Jan. 2, 2011, and the field includes perennial college hockey power Boston University (Hockey East), along with Minnesota State-Mankato (WCHA) and Brown University (ECAC).

Tickets at $15, $20, and $40 go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. via SearsCentre.com, by phone at (888) SEARS-TIX, or at the Sears Centre Arena Box Office. Group tickets are available by calling (847) 649-2225 and suites and loges are available at (847) 649-2227.

The Irish will face Minnesota State in a 6:05 game on Jan. 1 with Boston University and Brown playing in the opening game at 3:05 p.m.

On Jan. 2, Minnesota State will play in the first game at 2:05 p.m. against either Boston University or Brown with Notre Dame facing one of those two teams at 5:05 p.m.

Notre Dame has won each of the first two Shillelagh Tournaments.
