Geneva man dies in Wisconsin accident

Sheriffs officials in a central Wisconsin county are investigating an accident that left a Geneva man dead Saturday.

James Hardman, 25, of Geneva, was a passenger in a pickup truck that was traveling northbound on a road in Jackson Township when he fell out of the passenger side window at about 2 a.m. Saturday morning, said Adams County Sheriff Darrell Renner.

Renner said the pickup was driven by Randall Hardman, 50, of Machesney Park, which is near Rockford.

The younger Hardman was pronounced dead at the scene, Renner said, adding that alcohol may have played a role in the accident.

Renner said the incident remains under investigation, with assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol Traffic Reconstruction Unit.

A 2004 graduate of Geneva High School, Hardman is survived by his mother, Patricia Tragarz, of Sandwich; his father, Richard Hardman, of Stillman Valley, Ill.; and five siblings.

The obituary from the Turner-Eighner Funeral Home says Hardman's grandfather, Jerry Rous, lives in Oxford, Wis., in Marquette County, which is near the accident scene. The area is about 60 miles north of Madison.

Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Turner-Eighner, 13160 Route 34, Somonauk, with services to follow at 2 p.m.
