Back to school in District 204

Each with their own traditions, schools throughout Indian Prairie Unit District 204 welcomed students and educators back to classrooms Tuesday to start the new school year.

At Brookdale Elementary School in Naperville, tradition called for children to gather with their classes, then parade to the front of the building for a full-school recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and a welcome from Principal Brian LeCrone.

After introducing new staff members and issuing a few reminders, LeCrone rang the school's brass bell to signal the start of the school year and greeted students individually as they entered the building and headed to their classes.
