Music fest to raise funds for Parkinson's
Reservations for the fourth annual Concert for a Cure Saturday, Aug. 28, can now be made online at paulrubyfoundation.org. For those who prefer to purchase tickets in person, Kiss the Sky, 301 W. State St., Geneva, and Fagans, 524 W. St. Street, Geneva, will have tickets available.
This year's family-friendly music extravaganza will be from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Tanna Farms, 39W808 Hughes Road, Geneva. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for those younger than under 21.
A Parkinson's patient himself, Ruby, his friends and his supporters started Concert for a Cure in 2007.
Those performing include: The Antennas, Nashville; HOSS, Chicago; The Michael Heaton Band, Chicago; Dave Ramont & Friends, Chicago; Gallery, Chicago; The Future Burns, Chicago; Noah Gabriel (and band), Chicago; Greg Boerner, Chicago; The Wandering Endorphin, Chicago; Gabe Perez, Chicago; Hix Bros. Junior All-Stars, Chicago; and The Dallas Motorcade, Chicago.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. and the first band will take the stage at 2 p.m. The subsequent 8-hour, nonstop musicpalooza will be produced by Rank Entertainment and WXRT's Richard Milne. Lisa Dent, morning co-host at US-99 FM, America's Country Station, will emcee the event.
