Des Plaines man killed in one car crash; cause unknown
Toxicology results are pending in the death of a 53-year-old Des Plaines man who was killed in a one-car crash Wednesday afternoon, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said today.
Gerald Kehl was driving a 1989 Toyota pickup truck traveling eastbound on Craig Drive when the vehicle drove off the roadway, struck a street sign, and eventually came to a halt after crashing into a tree in the 2100 block, Des Plaines Police said.
The truck sustained only minor damage. Kehl showed no visible signs of injury but was unresponsive, police said.
He was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he was pronounced dead.
