8 years for North Aurora molester
A 43-year-old North Aurora man has been sentenced to prison for molesting a male baby sitter two years ago.
Ronald J. Caron, of the 100 block of Wildwood Drive, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a single Class 1 felony count of criminal sexual assault in exchange for eight years in prison, the Kane County state's attorney's office said.
Prosecutors said Caron molested a teenage boy who was baby-sitting for an acquaintance early on Sept. 20, 2008.
The assault happened after Caron went to the acquaintance's home on the 800 block of Richards Street in Aurora following a night of partying and found the baby sitter asleep on a couch. Prosecutors said the victim, who was younger than 18 at the time, awoke to find Caron having sexual contact with him.
Authorities said the victim immediately fled and called his mother, who contacted police. DNA evidence later linked the assault to Caron, prosecutors said.
By law, Caron must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence, or just less than seven years. He was given credit for six days served in the county jail.
