Carpentersvillebull; Alex Garcia, 28, the man arrested on charges of trespassing Friday and who, according to police, hid drug contraband in his body, needs $500 to get out of jail on the misdemeanor trespassing charge. According to police, Garcia locked himself in a public bathroom at a laundry in the 0-99 block of South State Street, swallowed a bag of drugs. Garcia, of the 1600 block of Elgin Road, was charged with trespassing and for being a fugitive from justice - he is wanted on a parole violation in Florida for a residential burglary and in Hanover Park for domestic battery, police said. He will appear in Elgin court on the trespassing charge Thursday. He also waived his right to an extradition hearing Tuesday and will return to Florida after the Elgin case has been resolved.Elginbull; Graham P. Nelson, 18, of the 13N100 block of Wedgewood Drive, Elgin, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 2:33 a.m. Tuesday and National Street and Wellington Avenue, reports said. Nelson was pulled over because an officer saw him flick a cigarette out of his vehicle - he also was cited for littering, reports said. Nelson is due in court Sept. 13, reports said.bull; Arthur J. Police said Gutierrez was westbound on Route 47 about 7 p.m. when his Saturn went off the road and struck a fence. No injuries were reported. bull; A diamond ring valued at more than $10,000 was reported stolen Thursday from a residence on the 06N200 block of Riverside Drive, St. Charles Township, police said. bull; Three lamp covers and a Rutland Township address sign were reported stolen between Aug. 5 and 8 from the Landings, 19N958 Aztec Lane, near Huntley. The lamp covers were valued at $200, according to a police report. bull; A black Kenneth Cole wallet and a blue and black Samsung cell phone were reported stolen Sunday during a party at a residence on the 15N800 block of Pleasant Fields Lane, near Hampshire. The owner told police two other cell phones were stolen from people at the party. The theft resulted in more than $300 in fraudulent purchases at Meijer, Sally Beauty Supply and Victoria's Secret being charged to the victim's credit cards, according to a police report. bull; Two jewelry boxes and several thousand dollars in cash were reported stolen Sunday from a residence on the 40W900 block of Bowes Road, near Elgin. The owners told police they came home from church to find doors to their service garage and kitchen open, and mud leading into their home.
