Aurora man dies in one-car crash
Aurora police are investigating a single-car crash Tuesday night that killed a 33-year-old Aurora man on the city's near east side.
Police said they responded to a 911 call at 7:40 p.m. for a report of an accident near Grandview Drive and Edgewood Avenue and discovered a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe just north of a bike path.
Responding officers said they found Vangle L. Pryor of the 900 block of East Benton Street in the driver's seat. The man was unconscious and not breathing.
Aurora paramedics performed CPR at the scene and transported Pryor to Rush Copley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 8:22 p.m.
Police said it appears Pryor was driving east on Grandview when his vehicle left the road and struck a street sign and then a tree. The vehicle apparently came to a stop when it struck a second tree.
An autopsy was scheduled Wednesday at the Kane County coroner's office.
