No injuries in Bensenville apartment fire

No one was injured in a late-night fire Monday in Bensenville, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the 1100 block of South David Street about 11:30 p.m. with reports that an apartment in a six-unit complex was on fire.

Firefighters said the blaze was contained to the unit's kitchen area, but all the apartments were evacuated. The fire was contained and extinguished within 15 minutes.

Roughly 10 people were displaced from the building overnight due to water and smoke damage, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and a damage estimate was not available Tuesday.

Firefighters from Leyden, Elmhurst, Wood Dale and Franklin Park assisted, officials said.
