No contributions from village vendors
I am currently in process to apply for a building permit from the Village of Hoffman Estates, and was informed that there is a village ordinance requiring me to use Groot for Dumpster service, and that there could be a substantial fine if I contract another company. Groot's rates are higher than other firms, and Hoffman Estates is forcing me to use them! Imagine taking it one step further, and the village telling me which contractor, plumber, electrician, and so forth, I had to use.
Interesting enough, Bill McLeod has accepted campaign donations from Groot. Combine that with the "Sweet Heart" contract Groot has with the Village, and conflict of interest and ethics raises its ugly head!
I'd like to hear McLeod's answer to the Daily Herald about which other companies that Hoffman Estates does business with have contributed to his campaigns. and why the Village shouldn't pass an ordinance prohibiting elected officials from accepting campaign contributions from individuals or companies the village does business with.
