Scouting: Atlanta Dream @ Chicago Sky
Atlanta Dream (18-13) at Chicago Sky (13-17)
When: 7 p.m. Saturday
Where: Allstate Arena
TV: CN100
Last time: On Friday, the Dream lost to the Liberty 90-83 in New York; on Tuesday, the Sky defeated the Phoenix Mercury 91-82 at Allstate Arena.
Playoff picture: The Sky was eliminated from the WNBA playoff picture Tuesday when Washington secured the final spot in the Eastern Conference.
Sky-lights: The Sky showed on Tuesday that it's not going to exit quietly. Playing with some of the fire and emotion that had been missing earlier in the season, the Sky got an emotional win over Phoenix, the defending WNBA champion. There were 5 technical fouls in the game and the Sky got 3 of them. Sylvia Fowles (24 points, 14 rebounds) was ejected after her second technical late in the fourth quarter, but the Sky still managed to finish the job without her. Rookie guard Epiphanny Prince again stepped up her game with 16 points.
Opposing view: Heading into Friday's game in New York against the Liberty, Atlanta had lost three straight games. But with 18 wins, the Dream is still guaranteed a spot in the WNBA playoffs. It will be the second straight playoff berth for the third-year franchise. Angel McCoughtry leads the Dream in scoring with 21.5 points per game while Iziane Castro Marques is at 17.3 points per game. She's had a couple of big games against the Sky.
Next: Atlanta Dream at Philips Arena, 6 p.m. Tuesday
