On taxes and immigration
The United States government sues a state for trying to enforce U.S. law. What's next? Domestic laws influenced by foreign nationals who have broken those laws?
Still our national government doesn't get it. How many al-Qaida operatives have to sneak across our borders? How many terrorists' acts have to occur on U.S. soil for our leaders to finally understand that the majority of American citizens demand that our immigration laws be obeyed?
Instead of labeling us racists and bigots, maybe, just maybe, our elected representatives will look at the evidence provided by the border patrol that clearly indicates there are many non-Hispanics also crossing the border. It would be prudent for us to consider that having a porous border invites more than the "huddled masses yearning to breathe free. . . ."
This has nothing to do with "legal" immigration. Quit trying to link the two - we know the difference. Any American politician who publicly states that "our nation is a nation of immigrants" will not receive my vote. Making that statement in defense of the illegal alien invasion is stupid - stop doing it.
And, for anyone who has been watching C-SPAN and the proceedings of the presidential commission on the budget and deficit, you will be hit in the face with what they are looking to do to taxpayers. We will see higher taxes if this partisan commission get's their way.
None of the recommendations that I've heard during the proceedings have anything to do with cutting foreign aid, bringing home troops stationed in Germany and Japan, or raising tariffs that are equal to the tariffs of other competing nations. All these incompetent fools can think of is which taxes they can raise and by how much. More revenue to mismanage - yeah, that's the answer. Stop gaming the American people.
