Ample opportunities to see COD survey

I would like to respond to the Aug. 11 article "College of DuPage will ask voters to OK $168 million."

The article at one point addresses a scientific survey taken by a third party in August showing a nearly 70 percent approval rate for a No-Tax-Rate-Increase capital referendum for college facility improvements. The public support shown by the survey factored into a decision by the college board to place a capital referendum on the November ballot.

Citizens, along with board members, were able to learn all results of the survey that evening. COD Vice President for Planning and Institutional Effectiveness Jim Benté provided analysis throughout the survey and answered pointed questions at that time. This presentation included the March survey, the August survey and comparative data from two other institutions that polled the same or similar questions in 2009.

We invite you to examine the survey results for yourself at the Codiscover website www.codiscovercod.com, where you can also leave feedback for the college or arrange for a Codiscover team to visit your organization.
