Southwest may add larger Boeing 737-800 to fleet
Southwest Airlines Co. will study whether to add to its fleet a larger model of the Boeing Co. 737, the only aircraft type flown by the carrier.
The 737-800 can seat 189 passengers in a one-class configuration, 40 seats more than the 737-700 flown by the Dallas-based carrier. Southwest expects to make a decision in the next few months, spokeswoman Whitney Eichinger said in an interview today.
