Celebrate Geneva at its 175th birthday party

Geneva residents are invited to a special 175th birthday party for the community from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, on the old Kane County Courthouse lawn, off Third Street in Geneva.

Highlights include a patriotic concert by the Fox Valley Concert Band, plus a dance performance by the Geneva Park District Sunset Dancers, roaming storyteller Terry Lynch, and a fun icebreaker activity designed to introduce Genevans to each other.

Residents will be invited to bring their picnic baskets and blankets and join them for an evening of old-fashioned community fun. In the true spirit of community cooperation, this event is made possible through partnerships between the Geneva History Center, city of Geneva, Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Geneva Park District and Geneva Public Library District.

For information, contact Dave Oberg, executive director of the Geneva History Center, at (630) 232-4951 or via e-mail at Exec Dir@genevahistorycenter.org.
