More murder charges for man charged in crime spree
A suburban Chicago man accused in a crime spree that left his girlfriend dead and his father paralyzed has been indicted in a second woman's death.
A Will County grand jury indicted 38-year-old James Amison of Steger on two counts of first-degree murder in the death of Tashika Smith.
Will County state's attorney spokesman Charles Pelkie says bond is set at $5 million.
Authorities allege Amison strangled Smith on the same December weekend he shot and killed Stephanie Reed and shot and injured his father, James Johnson.
Amison is being held without bond at Cook County Jail for the attacks on Reed and Johnson. Smith was strangled in Steger, in Will County.
The Cook County public defender's office declined to comment on the case.
