Lanes closed on Route 83

Drivers traveling on Route 83 through Wheeling will need to find temporary detours after a truck knocked a utility pole down this morning, closing all lanes in both directions.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m., leading to closures between Lake-Cook Road and Weiland Road, authorities said. ComEd crews have arrived and are working to clear the debris.
