Dundee farmer's market:The Old Dundee Farmer's Market is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at The Depot, 319 N. River St., East Dundee. It features more than 40 vendors each week selling locally grown produce, bedding plants and flowers, plus antiques, jewelry and collectibles. For details about vendor space, call Sandy Beck at (847) 426-2423.Film in the park:The International Latino Cultural Center in partnership with the City of Elgin will old Cine en el Parque/Film in the Park summer series on Wednesday, Aug. 25, in Festival Park, 136 S. Grove Ave., Elgin. The film will be shown at dusk, with preshow activities beginning at 7 p.m., including a performance by Ballet Folklorico Huehuecoyotl. There will also be games, raffles, giveaways and long distance phone calls to anywhere in the world courtesy of Verizon Wireless free of charge. The feature film, "Un Lugar Lejano/A Distant Place," was filmed in Argentina, Venezuela and Spain. Space is limited to 12 people and registration can be made by calling (847) 741-6655. The cost is $2 for adults, $1 for kids, and free for members of the Elgin Public Museum, 225 Grand Blvd., at Lords Park.Township collects school supplies:Grafton Township is a drop-off site for the Salvation Army's "Back to School Project." The project collects backpacks and school supplies for families in need. Families can qualify for the program by applying through the Grafton Township Supervisor's office or the Salvation Army. The township offices are at 10109 Vine St. in Huntley.
