Your news: Sunshine, kids and doing good deeds at Bartlett Bible School

Kids entering Kindergarten through fifth grade soaked up the sunshine during games and snacks at SonQuest Rainforest Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Living Lord Lutheran Church in Bartlett.

More than 150 kids jumped into the games, music, crafts and Bible stories June 14-18 as they learned about Jesus and his parables each day. In addition, the kids looked outside of themselves to help those less fortunate through the VBS Mission Project.

The Mission Project included supporting the Lutheran Malaria Initiative (LMI) through a Spare Change Challenge and collecting supplies for Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Health Kits. By bringing in spare change each day, the kids raised nearly $400 for the LMI. To learn more about the LMI, visit the Missions page at www.livinglordlutheran.org.

The kids also did a good job collecting supplies for LWR Health Kits. LWR will send these kits, which contain personal-care items such as toothbrushes, soap, and Band-Aids, to families all over the world who are affected by conflicts and natural disasters (lwr.org/beinvolved/healthkit.asp).

Living Lord is located at 1044 Congress Drive, on Route 59 just south of Stearns Road, in Bartlett.
