Tropical Storm Colin re-forms, heads for Bermuda

MIAMI -- Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center say a strengthening Tropical Storm Colin is approaching Bermuda but its projected path probably won't threaten the East coast of the U.S.

The storm had devolved into an unnamed low-pressure area in recent days, but forecasters confirmed Thursday that Colin returned to tropical storm status.

The center of the storm is located about 470 miles (760 kilometers) south of Bermuda and moving north-northwest around 20 mph (32 kph). Its sustained winds have increased to 60 mph (95 kph).

A tropical storm warning was issued for the British territory.

The storm is expected to make a gradual turn to the north and slow down in the next two days, and it could strengthen slowly.
