Mitsuwa hosts Bon Dancing Festival in Arlington Heights

Mitsuwa Marketplace in Arlington Heights will hold its Bon Dancing Festival, featuring traditional Japanese dancers, Taiko drummers, authentic Japanese food and drink, Japanese games and more.

The event runs from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7. Bon dancing starts at 6:15 p.m., and a one-hour performance by Japanese Jazz musician Yoko Noge's Japanesque will be from 8 to 9 p.m.

In addition to the fresh foods Mitsuwa Marketplace offers everyday inside its store and food court, it will also offer outside kiosks selling yakitori, yakisoba, ramen, curry rice, onigiri, kaki-gori, watagashi, dango, mizuame, ice cream and a selection of Japanese beverages.

These same foods are served at festivals held in Japan.

Additional parking will be available in Parking Lots A and B of Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights.

Mitsuwa Marketplace is at 100 E. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights.
