Carol Stream suspect nabbed in California
A second Carol Stream man wanted in a scam to steal from seniors has turned up in police custody in California.
Sal Auditore, 21, of the 600 block of Bluff Street, was arrested July 22 in Westminster, Calif., on a burglary charge.
He faces three no-bond burglary warrants in Cook County related to a plot to steal from seniors. Auditore and Jay Taylor, 21, of the same block in Carol Stream, were accused of gaining entry to residences in a Palos Park assisted-living center in late June by telling seniors they were working on a high-school project, at which point one would ask to use the bathroom and instead steal money, checks or credit cards.
Taylor has been charged with two counts of felony forgery.
Auditore also has active warrants from other states. His next court date is Friday in Orange County, Calif.
