DETROIT -- Prior to tonight's game at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox purchased the contract of left-handed pitcher Chris Sale from Class AAA Charlotte.
Sale, 21, combined to go 0-0 with a 2.61 ERA (3 ER/10.1 IP) and 19 strikeouts in 11 relief appearances this season between Charlotte and Class A Winston-Salem.
