3 charged in west side Aurora stabbing
Three people were charged over the weekend in connection with a stabbing on Aurora's west side, police said Monday.
Britini A. Smith, 21, of Naperville, and Aurora residents Amisha L. Chenault, 31, and Danny Dillard, 27, each were charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one count of mob action in Kane County court.
Aurora Police Lt. Pete Inda said officers responded late Friday to reports of a fight behind Dillard's home on the 100 block of South Lake Street. He said police later determined the victim, an Aurora man, received multiple minor stab wounds during an altercation with Chenault, Dillard and Smith.
Police could not immediately provide the age of the victim, or say whether one, two or all of the suspects stabbed him. Inda said the fight broke out after the victim said he was depressed over the recent death of a relative and, in turn, was pestered by the offenders.
Smith, of the 800 block of East Chicago Avenue; Chenault, of the 1000 block of Andover Court, and Dillard remained in the county jail Monday on $30,000 bail each. They are scheduled to appear in court Aug. 10.
