Village behind 8-ball on garbage pickup

I have a couple of gripes about how Arlington Heights handles its garbage pickup. First off, this is the only town that I've ever lived in that has two day per week garbage pickup.

I like it, however in today's economic times I think it would save people a lot of money to cut it down to once a week. It would also be much greener! Those trucks are burning so much fuel that doesn't need to be burned. The exhaust pollutes our neighborhood over and over again.

Secondly, what's with our recycling bins? We again, are way behind the other towns. They have these great big recycling cans that roll and close. We have a tiny little bin. On a windy day there are cans and papers all over my block.

Arlington Heights would recycle so much more if the residents had bigger bins, and we wouldn't have garbage all over the place.

I'm sure that Arlene has an answer for all of my concerns.
