Try out for Fox Valley Royals Travel baseball during August

The Fox Valley Royals Travel Baseball Program will hold tryouts for the 2011 season on several dates throughout August at Spartan Field on the campus of Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. Age groups are available for competitive travel players ages 12 and under to 18 and under; age cutoff for all age groups is May 1.

The Fox Valley Royals play in tournaments in locations throughout Illinois and the Midwest region including Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan as well as other states. In addition, each age level is instructed and coached by professional coaches on a year-round basis.

The tryout dates are: 11 and 12 year olds: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 14 and 21; 13 and 14 year olds: 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 14 and 21; 15 and 16 year olds: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 15 and 22; 17 and 18 year olds: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 15 and 22.

A one-time $10 tryout fee is required in-person, per player, the day of the event to cover all field, facility and equipment expenses. Players must preregister for any of the tryout days at the Fox Valley Royals website at www.foxvalleyroyals.com. Players should plan on being at all of the tryout dates unless other arrangements are made.
