Sox option Harrell to Charlotte after win

Following tonight's game vs. Oakland, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Lucas Harrell to Class AAA Charlotte.

Harrell, 25, was the winning pitcher tonight in his major-league debut against the Athletics after being recalled from Charlotte prior to the game. He allowed one run on four hits over 6 innings to become the first White Sox starting pitcher to win his major-league debut since Kip Wells on August 2, 1999 at Detroit.

Harrell is 9-9 with a 4.24 ERA (56 ER/119.0 IP) and 73 strikeouts in 22 starts with the Knights this season.
