Scouting: Fire @ Galaxy

When: 6:30 p.m. today at Home Depot Center

TV: Fox Soccer Channel

Scouting the Fire: After just a couple of days training with his new team, Nery Castillo probably won't play for the Fire (4-5-5, 17 points) while he tries to regain fitness. Midfielder Freddie Ljungberg could play after being acquired in a trade Friday.

Scouting the Galaxy: One reason the Galaxy (12-2-4, 40 points) is the best team in the league is right midfielder Michael Stephens, a rookie out of Naperville. Stephens has 7 assists in 18 games. Edson Buddle leads the league with 12 goals, and Landon Donovan leads the league with 11 assists, both despite missing time for the World Cup.

Next: New York Red Bulls at Toyota Park, 8 p.m. next Sunday
