Batavia marching band to practice at McWayne School

Far west side Batavians are likely to hear the Batavia High School marching band tootling away next week.

The band is going to practice Monday through Aug. 19 at Grace McWayne Elementary School, Main Street and Hapner Way. The marching band has been displaced from its normal practice area at the high school due to ongoing construction.

The band will practice from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Aug. 10 and 11; 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 12; and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 16 to 19.

As a thank-you to neighbors, the marching band will perform a free concert at 5 p.m. Aug. 18 on the grounds at Grace McWayne.
