Winn-Dixie to cut 120 jobs, close 30 stores
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. says it will close 30 of its underperforming stores and cut more than 120 corporate and field support jobs to cope with weak sales.
The grocer hopes to save $12 to $17 million annually as a result, starting in the first quarter. The company says it will disclose which stores will be closed on its website Thursday.
Winn-Dixie is expected to provide more details on the changes at the end of August, when it reports financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year.
