Road workers face tough conditions

Regarding the Fence Post letter that road crews should be glad to have jobs, here's another view. What the writer does not understand is that on paper it looks like these construction workers are in great shape. However, most of these crews are off work for many months in the wintertime. Also, they work in rain, sleet, 90-plus degree and 30 degree temperatures.

In addition to construction workers, people are taking aim at teachers' salaries and benefits. These are the people who are with your children a large percentage of their lives.

Before you take aim at other professions, look at your own job. Do you work in an air-conditioned and/or heated workplace? Do you get bonuses? Do you get paid vacations or work in inclement weather? Check out things before you spout off on situations you don't understand.
