Moylan completely wrong on parking

Des Plaines Mayor Marty Moylan has turned his back on the longtime residents of Des Plaines in favor of unsightly parking lots.

In two recent cases he has been the driving force in going against the recommendations of the zoning board and convincing the city council to ignore the board's advice, not to mention the pleas of the residents affected by these unwise decisions.

A front-page article in the July 18 edition of the Daily Herald spells out just how adversely the residents have been affected by the overflow parkers of the Potter Road mosque - cars blocking their driveways, no mail delivered on Fridays because of mailboxes being blocked, etc.

As if that's not bad enough, he insinuates that there is racism behind the protests of the residents, along with basically saying that there are more parking lots to come and we'd better get used to it.

With the kind of leadership Mayor Moylan has displayed there is an obvious moniker for this turncoat - a one term mayor.
